As reported by a study published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior, many find sex between women less enjoyable than with men because men’s bodies differ structurally than that of women. Because people enjoy exploring male bodies – be it through heterosexual sex or gay porn – many find they find greater satisfaction from exploring them further.
Straight guys might also watch gay porn for other reasons: to escape gender roles and reduce tension. These experiences can be deeply fulfilling and therapeutic in equal measures.
Downing’s study highlights that heterosexual men can often find themselves attracted to, and in some instances even hooking up with, other males of the same species, so it should come as no surprise that some same-sex males might enjoy watching gay porn.
Neville’s research revealed that many interviewees indicated their use of gay male porn was part of an overall process of self-exploration. For them, viewing these scenes served both to learn about homosexuality and see themselves from an outsider perspective.

According to a recent study conducted by Archives of Sexual Behavior, while 55% of men who identify as gay watch gay porn, 21% also watched it, showing sexuality is much more fluid than we think. This discrepancy illustrates this point beautifully.
These men may be drawn to same-sex relationships or just interested in exploring their sexuality, with male-on-male sex being particularly thrilling and stimulating compared to heterosexual sex.
